they ran out of money for one this year Losing our main sponsors for the coming season has made a pretty hefty dent in the finances (see the ‘Sponsorship’ thread - blackburnunited.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=general&action=display&thread=400 ) but we can still just about afford to have the Player of the Year and Player’s Player of the Year trophies engraved! A misunderstanding and a clash of dates resulted in their being no formal Player of the Year event this season, but the votes have been tallied and hopefully Mark and Jamie will be having a word with the players to try to arrange a more informal gathering at which the winners can receive their awards.

Still no reply to this link..... i find it strange that no-one from the committee have said who player of the year for 09/10 season was. Shame on the lad who actually was voted players player or committee player. Have since heard that it might have been Davie Sneddon? Anyone want to shed some light. Every other year the event was organised and the trophy engraved!!

Still no reply to this link..... i find it strange that no-one from the committee have said who player of the year for 09/10 season was. Shame on the lad who actually was voted players player or committee player. As previously said, a misunderstanding and a clash of dates resulted in their being no formal Player of the Year event at the end of last season. However, the committee were keen that the awards should be presented at a proper Club event and not simply after a game. This, then, was why the presentation of both the Player of the Year and Player's Player of the Year awards was delayed until the Race Night last night. Deservingly, both trophies were won by Davie Sneddon to the acclaim of his team mates and everyone in attendance. Our congratulations go to Davie!! Go to the News page of the main website and to blackburnunited.homestead.com/PoY10.html for more details.

The 2010/2011 Blackburn United Player of the Year Evening will take place this coming Saturday, 21st May in the Balbardie Hotel in Bathgate. There will be an award made to the Club's Player of the Year, determined by committee votes collated and totalled at the end of each game in the form of Man of the Match votes, and to the Player's Player of the Year. Both these awards are presently held by Davie Sneddon. In addition, there may also be an award made to the Supporter's Player of the Year. The evening is planned to begin at approximately 7:30pm and a small buffet will be provided.

Cultured midfielder Alan Brown won the overwhelming recognition both of his fellow players and of the supporters on Saturday night by winning each of their respective player of the year awards and made it an unprecedented clean sweep when he also claimed the main 2010/11 Player of the Year award.
